Piper’s Kindergarten Graduation and Last Day of School

(May 29-30, 2014)

It’s still crazy to think the baby of the family graduated from Kindergarten. Piper had an incredible teacher, Mrs. Mikulecky. She just loves all the kids and I had a lot of fun coming in and helping once a week in her classroom. Piper’s teacher even got me a gift card to say thank-you for all the help during the year. Isn’t it supposed to be me thanking her for all her hard work during the year?

Piper was super excited to show off all the songs she learned.

This is Piper with Megan Smith. These two have been in school together for three years now. They did two years together with Ms. Sara for preschool.

Megan’s mom and I have had a great thing going the past three years.  We would switch off weeks where the girls got together for 2-3 hours after school and played at each other’s homes. It has been awesome. I had a lot more time to get things done and not have to drag Piper to all my errands. And the days that Megan came over I was able to clean the house uninterrupted while the girls played upstairs in Pip’s room.  Awesome!

Here’s Piper with Mrs. Mikulecky. The sweetest teacher a Kindergartner could have!

After graduation I took Pip to lunch at her favorite restaurant to celebrate. I’m so glad she likes Zupa’s too.

I actually remembered to take a picture of the girls on the last day of school. Calista thinks she changed the most. Could be because she got contacts?

Oh, I almost forgot. Téa finally fessed up that she couldn’t see the board in class. She said she was tired of asking Hannah what was written on the board so she tried Hannah’s glasses one day for fun and it made things a whole lot clearer. So we took Téa to the eye doc and turns out…she needs help seeing. All this happened like two weeks before school ended, too.

Here’s what Téa picked out. They are super cute on her.

Since having them she’s realized that she needs them when watching TV and when we go to movies and plays. She only needs them for distance. She made the mistake of reading with them once and got a headache within minutes. She’s started carrying them in a purse wherever she goes now, just in case.
