Par-tay!

OK, so I'm finally getting around to posting about Téa's birthday party. She really wanted her party at Kangaroo Zoo this year. Although there are so many things wrong with the way they run things it's still a great place for kids. I had to put my prejudices aside and let Téa have her way. After all it was HER birthday. I decided to have her party on a weeknight, hoping that Kangaroo Zoo wouldn't be crowded. We were lucky. There were only four other kids there (who caused problems because their moms weren't even paying attention to them and could care less that one of them was pushing and shoving constantly). Anyway, there were a total of seven kids for the party and was the perfect number. They all ran around for over an hour and were just exhausted afterwards.

Here's everyone: Nicolas, Dax, Tucker, Brynnleigh, Calista, Téa and Brooklynn.
Piper is starting to spend time on her hands and knees more. She still doesn't go anywhere but she assumes the position often. Meghan was there with us too and she tried so hard to teach Piper to crawl. She got to find out how lazy Piper really is!
Here's the cute couple. It will be fun to show this picture to Dax and Téa when they are teenagers. Actually, it will be fun to show them all the pictures we have of them growing up together. They are still best buddies.
Brooklynn, Brynnleigh and Calista. Brookie and Brynnleigh clicked instantly. They started talking together while in the car and by halfway through the party they were running around together holding hands and following each other.
I was able to solve the problem of no cake allowed inside Kangaroo Zoo by making big piggy cupcakes and wrapping them up for the kids to eat later. Little did I know that Kangaroo Zoo doesn't even allow birthday gifts inside unless you book a party room. Right...like I'm going to pay over $150 just so my child can open presents inside the building. Dream on people! So after the kids tired themselves out we went outside to the parking lot grassy area and opened gifts and had cupcakes and Téa was so excited to give her friends their party bags. She spent a lot of time picking out things that each person would like. I have to admit I had fun going through the dollar store with her helping her choose things.

It was a great party and we all had fun. I am looking foward, though to having parties only every other year. I'm thinking that I should just have actual friend parties on even birthdays. Especially since Piper and Calista have birthdays one after another.

Marcia,

It's sure great to see the kids having fun. Kangaroo Zoo rocks! What a great place for a party. You don't even have to watch your kids!! There are plenty of other parents there so you can just sit on your backside and let them deal with your problems. Now that's therapy!

I would love to be included in with those who can view your blog in the future. Your blog is awesome! It's so nice to be able to stay in touch with you guys that way. Do you know Steve & Michelle's blog? Do Ty & Megan have a blog?
