All Things Calista

I figured it was time for a Calista post.

Every night we sing songs to the girls before bed. The past few months, however, Calista sings me songs. She even gives them titles. Here are the two she sings me the most:

"Kulukah Bug"

"Story in the Book"

They always have different verses but they are hilarious songs. Oh, and Kulukah is her favorite name that she gives all her Barbies when we are playing together. You can't play Barbies with Calista without giving them all names. If she doesn't like the name you choose, she'll pick one for you.

I was out weeding the garden yesterday with Calista and she wanted to know what we were going to plant. I told her tomatoes, zucchini, corn, peppers, cilantro, etc. She repeated them all back to me to make sure she knew everything and then she said

"Mom, don't forget to plant Mac 'N Cheese!"

A couple of buckets of weeds later Calista just comes up to me and says we have two cheekies: Bum cheekies (as she points to her butt) and outside cheekies (as she points to her face). I asked her where she learned all about cheekies and her response was "Daddy."

Oh my heck...that is so funny!! Those are reasons why having a blog is so great. You can remember all this funny stuff that your children say!! It sounds like you are planting stuff for salsa...good luck! We are sharing a garden with a family in our ward. It should be an interesting experience. Oh, just to make this forever long, I found out that you can freeze fresh salsa. I like it best that way...the guy said to freeze it in individual serving bags and when you want it, take it out, defrost it in the fridge, poke a hole to drain out excess fluid, and whala you have salsa that tastes the same as fresh. He said it's not mushy or anything. I'm going to try it this year!
Love ya

Ah Calista....I hope she never asks me to play barbies with me. I also hope she doesn't talk about my huge bum cheekies.

Hang in there, Cia! I often feel a bit sheepish after complaining to your mom about anything regardings kids, since she went through so many really difficult things. At least she can empathize with your over Mark's trips.

Calista is so cute! Her and Aurora would be great barbie playmates...she does the exact same thing! Oh, the kids and I will be out there for a few weeks in July, so we will have to get together!

You should have planted a piece of macaroni. That would have been funny. She is adorable.
