I got so tired of vacuuming the house three times a week and vacuuming the couch pretty much every day so I took Max to Petsmart and had him groomed. Yes, I had my cat groomed. I used to make fun of people when I heard they groomed their cat. Don’t cats clean themselves all day long? Anyway, I heard from a friend that Petsmart does the ‘lion shave’ if you ask them to. Without further ado, here’s the new and improved Maximus.

Who knew he was such a scrawny looking kitty? My favorite is his tail. He acted offended for about 2 days but I think he might have forgiven me by now. It’s been a week and it’s growing in slowly. The day he was shaved he was so skittish and wouldn’t go outside. I think he felt exposed and naked. I kind of felt bad until I realized that he wasn’t leaving chunks of his fur all over the house. And he now wants to sit in anyone’s lap to keep warm. Téa said Max is now the cat she always wanted, now that he snuggles all the time. I’m thinking this will become a new Spring Time tradition. Hopefully a year is long enough for a cat to forget how awful the experience was.
