In keeping with tradition (ok so this is only the second year) we headed to Mesquite for Spring Break. We decided a nice, laid-back vacation was what we needed. Nice weather, a pool and family. We left on a Tuesday after Mark got off work a little early and headed down.
First item on our agenda the next morning…
I love these courts at the Sun City Clubhouse. They have a great view and are nice courts. They added a new feature since we last played there; these cool score keeper things. I was the yellow ball, by the way. Not that I’m gloating or anything, because when we played two days later Mark spanked me 6-1. Ouch. I blame it on the kids that had to come with us. They totally distracted me.
What’s better than spending the whole day in pajamas? Well, riding razor scooters around the courtyard in pajamas, of course!
As soon as the water warmed up to 72 degrees the kids jumped in. Outside temp was only 80 so the cold water was a bit of a shock.
Téa laying in the sun trying to warm up. All the girl’s lips were blue after an hour.
I enjoyed the sun and steered clear of the pool. Too cold for me.
Mark and Jeep bonding time. This dog only likes my dad, but occasionally she will give other people attention too.
Just before the kid’s bedtime we decided on some S’mores. The girls will never say no to S’mores. My awesome Aunt Charmaine and Uncle Ross were guests at the Casa de Woolley during our stay. We love it when we get to see them. They are hiding way in the back in the picture.
I love fire…and roasting mallows.
Piper thoroughly enjoyed her S’more. And enjoyed a second and a third as well.
The timing of our trip ended up being perfect. It also allowed us to attend my Great Uncle Galen’s funeral in Cedar City on our way home that Saturday. I got to see a few of my dad’s cousins and their children and it was nice to pay our respects to a great man. I didn’t know him well but hearing about him, he lived a great life and up until a month before he died he was a Temple Sealer in the St. George Temple.
On our way home we stopped in Beaver for a while to hang out with Mark’s parents and then we were off for the last leg of the drive. The next week’s reality check was kind of brutal but we loved having a break from everything. Although, reality only hit for four days until my next little vacation. That post to come next…
