July

July has ended so I figured I'd better blog about the the 4th of July finally. We had a great 4th which ended up being an entire weekend since we live in Utah and the 4th fell on Sunday. We started out on Saturday, July 3rd with fireworks at night at Thanksgiving Point. We actually let the kids stay up late to see them. After the first firework went off Piper said "I don't like them". After I snuggled up with her to watch the rest she kept saying "The fireworks are cooool".

We got there early to save spots on the grass. It was dang windy and to keep Piper in one place we put a movie on in the car and eventually lots of cousins joined in.

Notice everyone wrapped up in blankets? It was cold and windy. Our van seats ended up being the most comfortable chairs of the night.

And there was a beautiful sunset.

The parade was Monday the 5th and of course we were there. It's been a tradition since Mark and I started dating (that was 10 years ago, yikes). This year I had to miss running the Freedom Run. I really missed it but hopefully I will be back up and running 3.2 miles in a few weeks. I'm just not so sure I can do it in 28 minutes.

The girls are always front and center for the parade. This year Piper wanted to mostly sit with the big girls.

After the parade it was off to our house for food and games. Still cold, but the kids wanted to play in the water. Our girls l-o-v-e their cousins and we all had a great time.

And we had fun with fireworks of our own that night.
