Can you say static electricity?

Since the first day we moved in Mark and I noticed how we both get shocked all the time while going about the house. We've noticed it is so much dryer here than in our old place. And since we got our new couch this is what the girls' hair looks like all the time...

If you even brush up against the couch with your hair you get major static. This is what Téa looked like after playing with Mark. Even the girls' hands are being affected by the dryness. They are really red and dry. Their hands are starting to look like mine. I think in the future we are going to have to invest in a water softener and a humidifier on our furnace. On the up side, the kids have fun going around shocking each other. Nothing beats free entertainment.

Here's the difference between where we live and where you live: we're still running our dehumidifier in the basement. It's better in the winter, but in the summer you can nearly drink the air.
