Toothless and Hairy

Just a little catch up…

Calista lost her two front teeth back at the beginning of November.  She was so cute with the huge gap.  She is growing up so fast.  Next thing you know she will be wearing braces. 

Just a few things about Calista at this stage.  She made so much progress in the first 2 months of school.  Her reading grew by leaps and bounds.  She loves to read now and getting her to do homework isn’t the chore it used to be. 

Calista still loves dance.  She is getting ready for her Christmas recital which she is super stoked for. 

I can still make Calista laugh so hard she gets the hiccups. 

Her hair is almost long enough to sit on now.  She confessed the other day that she cut some of her hair at school.  Just a few strands in the front.  She told me that she is ready to cut all of her hair off.  She and I made a deal 3 years ago when she wanted to grow her hair out “like Rapunzel”.  I told her that she could but she wouldn’t be able to cut it all off until it was long enough to donate a good portion of it to Locks of Love.  She agreed and loved the idea of helping another kid.  It’s long enough now to donate but I’m not sure I’m ready to get rid of it.  I have so much fun doing different styles with it every day.  I need to learn to let go, I guess.

I asked her if she was willing to wait until her birthday (July) to cut it but she said no.  I’ll keep you all informed on what her final decision will be…dun dun dun.
