Halloween ‘11

This year the girls were blessedly easy on me for costumes.  Piper wanted to be a witch (which we already had), Calista wanted to be Daphne (which we already had) and Téa wanted to be Dorothy (which we found back in Sept. at Walmart for super cheap).  Since two of the costumes cost me nothing I splurged and bought ruby slippers for Téa’s costume, which I know will be used again by Calista.

Mark took the girls around the neighborhood trick-or-treating.  I stayed home to pass out candy.  I was impressed that the girls made it an hour this year.  Two years ago they made it 30 minutes.  Last year was 2 hours but only because cousins had gone with them.

Here’s Dorothy, Daphne and the WWW.  Téa and Mark worked on Piper to help her memorize “I’ll get you my pretty.  And your little dog, too!”  It was great.  (In case you were wondering WWW stands for Wicked Witch of the West).

Our cute Daphne.  She had a Scooby Doo stuffed animal around somewhere with her.

And Dorothy.  Téa made the perfect Dorothy.  I’m glad we waited another year since last year she had super short hair.  I think this year was her favorite costume.

And to summarize all the other Halloween fun during the month of October Piper had a party at her school.  Here she is in her costume and black frosting all over her face.  The mom who helped with the party told me Piper was the only kid who wanted black frosting on her cookie.  That’s my girl.  She probably thought it matched her outfit better than orange.

We also headed to Thanksgiving Point for the Spooky Saturdays festivities.  The girls love this every year.  Probably just for the face painting.

And Piper also had her first school fieldtrip.  We went to a small local farm which was perfect for the 3 year olds.  She’s the one with the cool crazy hat.

Piper even got to pick out her own pumpkin and go on a hay ride.

It’s been a busy October.  I’m sure November will be no different.  On to Thanksgiving!

Cute, Cute costumes! Steve wanted to a group theme this year and go as Scooby Doo and the gang, but I didn't want to find all the parts for the outfits. Calista looked great. We're coming to town...I'll send you an email.
