We have this awesome pass called the Pass of All Passes. It gets us into a whole lot of places in Utah County. One of them is Trafalga here in Lehi. They have laser tag, go-carts, bumper boats, indoor and outdoor mini golf, arcade games and a rock climbing wall. We went a bunch of times this past year but the girls finally wanted to try the climbing wall.
Téa is on the left and my Calista on the right.
Piper took a while to get used to the climbing thing.
The next time we went all three of the girls made it all the way to the top.
Calista always wants to make sure I’m watching.
Téa all the way to the top. This is a BIG deal for her. She is totally afraid of heights.
Our tree finally lost its leaves in a windstorm so the girls wanted to rake the front lawn. Apparently Calista thought a traditional pile of leaves was too boring.
Halloween. I used to love this holiday as a kid. I find that as I get older I could totally do without all the costumes and candy. I will admit, though that this year I did have a lot of fun. Working at an elementary school you just have to dress up. It’s pretty much expected. I work with some awesome people and we all decided we should come up with something we could do together. A moment of inspiration hit Emily (the head workroom aid I work with) and she came up with this!
Curt actually keeps bees at his house. His outfit was the inspiration piece and the rest was pretty easy. I had a lot of fun buzzing around the school with a kazoo, a party hat stinger and my fellow bees.
Now on to the kids! Their costumes turned out great.
Ms. Dorothy Gale, from Kansas.
Tauriel, from The Hobbit. Calista makes a great elf.
I worked hard on Calista’s hair. I love the internet. I was able to find Tauriel’s hairstyle to copy. Here’s a close up.
And the Chinese girl. Téa came up with this costume last minute. She borrowed hair chopsticks from a friend which put the finishing touches on everything else we already had.
We had a gorgeous sunset the night of Halloween. I only caught the last little portion of it, though. Normally on Halloween everyone is bundled up and wearing winter coats. This year we hadn’t even seen rain by Halloween. I guess I shouldn’t complain. The girls were able to show off their costumes better.
