Sometimes life just gets so busy you forget to do the really cool things. Weekends get so busy during soccer season so we don’t have a lot of free time. We actually had a Saturday where we only had one game which was early in the morning. We decided to take advantage of the free afternoon and evening to drive up into American Fork Canyon to see the fall colors and explore a small part of the amazing mountains we live by. Everyone else had the same idea, too! It was super busy and we had lines of cars on the scenic route.
The views did not disappoint and the colors were amazing.
With so many cars on the road we pulled off and found a short trail to hike.
A little bird watching. Well, I think they were actually looking for goats on the mountain.
Mark figured out he has a timer for his camera on his phone. Not too bad for a tree as a tripod.
Here’s said tripod. Or we could call it a ‘tree’pod. Ha!
Téa is becoming pretty good at taking pictures too.
Sometimes tree trunks are just cool to take pictures of.
Not sure why, but watching Piper run her fingers over the tops of the mountain grass was a special moment for me. Maybe it's because she's my baby and she's growing up so fast? Or maybe it's because she was actually enjoying the hike and wasn't complaining about anything.
These girls are my whole world. Mark is too! (don’t worry, honey). I love them. We tend to have a lot of fun together.
We all had a great time. It’s a small glimpse of what we will be doing in June when we go to Yellowstone.
