Get ready for some major blog updating. I can’t believe I missed this one, though. Back in July of last year I took the kids to the zoo one day when plans fell through to go to the lake. We hadn’t been in a while and I had yet to see the new Rocky Shores area. It was a ton of fun and we realized if we bought a year pass we would only have to go there times to pay for itself. So, we will be seeing a lot of the zoo this year.
These kids love to ‘monkey’ around.
Always a favorite picture spot…the huge elephant sculpture that spits water at you through its trunk.
Piper is such a poser for the camera.
Téa loved the elephants and could have stayed all day watching them.
Calista and I could have watched Rizzo, the polar bear for hours.
Téa did a huge report on otters at the end of fourth grade so she was fascinated with watching the river otters. I have some great memories watching the otters at the Monterey Bay Aquarium when I was little. They’re so cute. We found the little sculpture of the otter so Téa could have her picture taken.
The kids are always looking for a cool pose for pictures. Very creative.
I laughed so hard when Piper tried to pose with the bears too.
And, lastly, a random picture of the girls just a few days after the zoo. We went to Thanksgiving Point Farm Country and they got to brush the miniature horses there.
Calista was in heaven and didn’t want to leave. She wants to be a horse trainer when she grows up. We’re looking into horse back riding lessons for her this summer. I hope she realizes she won’t ever be able to have one as a pet. I sure don’t want to be the one to crush her dreams, though.
