Labor Day Weekend Fun (catch up)

This was the first Labor Day we haven’t spent with Mark’s siblings in ages.  It felt weird to not be playing games all day long and constantly eating candy.  My parents convinced us (didn’t take much) to come down to enjoy their new swimming pool for the weekend.  The kids were super excited to hear we would be swimming the entire weekend.

As soon as the kids woke up Saturday morning we did this…

Téa did a lot of snorkeling.  She loved it actually.

Piper looked like this the whole weekend.  Her floaty vest wasn’t keeping her afloat so we added the floaty ring and it was perfect.  She could swim around without us having to hold her.  She freaked out if anyone touched her floaty things.

Turns out my Aunt Charmaine’s birthday was on that Sunday.  So my mom bought her a little cake, some balloons and we sang to her.  Charmaine and Ross (my mom’s brother) bought an investment house just a few blocks away from my parent’s house so they were down visiting as well.

The raft float that Piper carried around in the water with her was given a name.  “Yellow Blanket”.  I guess she has to have a security blanket even in the water.  The real Yellow Blanket is the bane of my existence.  That’s an entire different blog post.

Sunday we had a full crowd hanging out in the backyard.  My dad and I had a water fight.  I lost, of course.  My dad’s brother, Phil and his wife Dianne came for the weekend as well.  It was so much fun catching up with my aunts and uncles I don’t see very often.  And my kids had a blast playing with all of them in the pool.

We had noodle fights.  Which I lost again.

And the end of the evening was perfect with a nice fire (even though it was still 95 degrees outside when the sun went down).

We had a great time hanging out with family.  Swimming was great and the girls keep asking when we can go again.  It was nice and relaxing and who doesn’t love a nice weekend by the side of the pool?
