Something to blog about

I'm in a blogging rut again. I have lots going on and my kids are doing cute things but somehow I can't get myself to sit down at the computer and post. Today, however I felt we had something to blog about... because there's a cool picture to go with it. Mark broke his finger in two places this morning while playing in NuSkin's flag football tournament. I'm at Thanksgiving Point this morning with the kids doing some really fun things and I get a call from Mark thinking he's just keeping me updated on how his games are going. The first sentence out of his mouth is "Don't get mad, but I'm on my way to the InstaCare". The last thing I say to Mark before he plays any sport is "don't get hurt". He said he'd take it easy during the tourny. He knows that his body doesn't bounce back as quickly anymore and being a weekend warrior isn't as much fun as it used to be. X-rays were taken and Mark came back with orders to see a orthopedic doc. Great... The cool thing now is that when x-rays are taken they put it on a disk for you to keep. Here's a picture of what his finger looks like on the outside...

And what it looks like on the inside...
If you look at the middle finger and the second bone from the top you can see two dark lines. Yeah, he broke it in two places. Good one! And he's pretty much screwed because it's his right hand and he works on a computer all day. Hmm...we'll see how his first day back to work on Monday goes. On the plus side I can play soccer on Tuesday nights again. Woo hoo!

Updated picture of Mark's finger the next morning. Ouch.

Don't give up on the blogging world Marcia! I won't get to hear how you're doing as much!!!! Come on! Sorry to hear about Mark's finger...he will probably look a little gimpy at work for a little bit in his typing skills. That would be a funny picture. :) I'm mean, I know it. Have fun playing soccer, and don't break anything...including someone else!

My brother broke his first finger in high school, 20 years ago, and had to write with his finger up in the air til it healed. He still writes with his finger up in the air, just not as high. Good luck healing, Mark, and go play soccer and have lots of fun, just don't get hurt! :)

Just had a thought - the last time he broke fingers, I did it a few weeks later.... uh oh.

Sure he broke it "playing football." Not sure I believe that since now YOU get to play soccer!!

I think Mark needs to sleep with one eye open once the fingers heal to see what you might inflict upon him next...
