Geering Up for Halloween

We got around to carving pumpkins for Family Home Evening. Well, just two pumpkins, actually. Mark still can't do squat with his right hand, therefore making pumpkin carving impossible. And since we still have carpet under our dining room table I opted for the carving to take place on the front porch. And it was too cold for Piper. So while Mark watched baseball the older girls and I did pumpkins.

When you have young kids and you say 'we're going to carve our pumpkins' all it means is that MOM is going to carve the pumpkins. The kids just sit back and critique you. This picture was taken when they first thought "oh, I can gut a pumpkin". Right...
Don't I look happy?
I decided that our tree out front looked a little bare. One thing I've learned about our fall gold ash tree...it blooms late and looses it's leaves early. The girls and I had fun making these ghosts. Please tell me that they look like ghosts. Lie to me, if you must.
Tomorrow the girls are so excited to have their Halloween parties at school and then head to Leslie's for her Halloween party she hosts every year. I'll be kickin' it at home just to make sure I'm not spreading any viruses (and so Piper can get to bed on time).
