Summer officially ended yesterday. Téa started first grade yesterday. I think I was more nervous than she was. She already knew three girls that were going to be in her class. I was worried about trivial things like will she be able to buy her lunch all right or will she start missing me (ha! fat chance of that one, right?) and I worried about the not so trivial things like now she will be influenced by school kids for 6 hours a day. Thankfully the anxiety of the first day is over. I made it through and Téa came home with all sorts of things to tell me. One of my questions put to her was if she bought her lunch without any problems. She gave me the thirteen-year-old look and said "Of course. It's simple, Mom. You just tell them your first and last name." All she needed to do to make that statement any more teenager-ish was add a 'duh' at the end. Hmm... Are we sure she's just a first grader?
Anyhoo...Here are some shots of my little "angel".
And Monday Calista starts Preschool. I don't know how I'll survive with just one kid three days a week in the mornings. (If you hear shouts of joy it was just me)
Her hair looks really cute! It looks a lot like Aurora's. I am totally jealous that you will have two less kids in the house during the day! Preschool is too expensive here, so I am going to just do stuff with Aurora at home...I am not excited about it.
Ya, that's awsome that you will be down to one. I was hoping to get Trevor into preschool through the headstart program here, but apparently there were "needier" children than he is. SO, we get to wait and see if there is a future opening, and see if I can teach him a thing or two to help him learn his letters, numbers, name...OKAY, everything!!! Oh, help me!
Go Tea! Isaac is so happy to be back in school, and I guess I'm not sentimental enough to miss him. I'm happy that he's happy, and it's nice to have fewer fights. Today I dropped Alex off at the first day of preschool and went to WalMart with just one kid! Yahoo!
