Yes, this is me playing catch up. Just deal with it.
With July being Piper and Calista’s birthdays we decided to make it easy on me and do their friend parties back to back. How is that helpful you ask? Well, you rent a big blow up slide for 2 days (I got an awesome deal) and let the slide do all the work!
So on Monday July 9 we had Piper’s birthday party with all her friends in the morning. Unfortunately, the business we used for the slide had a mix up with their computer and the slide showed up an hour and a half late so the kids only had about 30 minutes to play on it. They still had a blast. Piper loves to play with friends so she invited pretty much every 3-4 year old she knows.
We had to improvise until the slide arrived so we had a tiny pool, the rocket launcher and water balloons.
We opened gifts before the slide as well and sang happy birthday and had cupcakes. Did I mention we had tons of time to kill?
Notice the non-homemade cupcakes. Yeah, I totally went the easy route for these parties.
THEN the slide finally showed up and the real fun began!
After Piper’s party we had family over for “FHE” so the cousins could get in on the slide action. So fun to watch my adult nieces and nephews having a blast, too.
Can’t have a party without cake and ice cream.
Day 2 of the slide was Calista’s turn for her friend party. This time the kids had the full 2 hours to play on it. Here are some of the party guests. Ainsli, Hayleigh and Lauren.
Not quite sure what Téa was doing here but I think it was a yoga pose or something. Or maybe meditation?
After Calista’s party we ended up inviting a few neighbors over as well to get our last few hours of daylight in on the slide. Our kids were exhausted after 2 full days of nothing but sliding and our grass was completely swamped for about a week. But it was totally worth it. Might just have to do this every year.
