Now, the title of this post might almost seem like an oxymoron. How is it possible to have a real vacation in 2 days? Well, when you have three young kids you take what you can get.
My brother’s son, Isaac turned 8 years old last month and for us LDS people that means we choose to be baptized. I really wanted our family to be there for his baptism but Darron lives in Washington (State) and it’s not possible for us to drive there and back in 3 days…and stay sane. So we decided I would fly out to ‘represent’. After more thought on the matter we decided it would be even better if Téa came with me since her baptism will be coming up in 8 months.
So last weekend I took Téa out of school at lunch time on Friday, met up with my mom at the airport during her layover from L.A. and flew the rest of the way together to Spokane. I looked at my parking ticket stub when we got back to the car Sunday afternoon and I noticed we parked at 12:48 pm Friday. When we returned to the car it was 12:48 pm Sunday. A quick trip, but so worth it. We had a great time. And it was a great vacation for me because I only had one kid and that kid was Téa who is not Piper who is 2.
Téa was so excited to fly, but as soon as we got on the plane and drinks and peanuts were served she just wanted to read. Notice the window shade is down. Didn’t even care about being 30,000 feet up in the air.
We got the first row on the way there and so much leg room. I’m pretty sure I won’t have that much on the way to Italy.
Isaac and Téa.
Darron and me. Sorry, Darron but we look old.
Somewhere in that 48 hours we squeezed in dinner at Olive Garden, lunch at Dairy Queen, a soccer game, a baptism and lots of time to catch up with my brother. Thanks, Woolley’s, we had a great time and thank you Isaac for giving up your room for us.

i can't believe they have a child that is baptized!! won't that be you next year? love seeing family. i miss mine terribly!
I'm glad you guys had a fun mother/daughter outing. Is that like a 7th grade book that she is reading on the plane? It feels like I have to drag Andrew into reading books like that! It must be a girl thing because I love to read.
Wow, you and your bro look so much alike! Glad you had a great time and hooray for just taking one kid!
