This was Lady when we first got her. All black and she had lots of spunk.
I loved taking Lady to the beach. After I was married Mark and I took her every chance we got until she got too old.
My parents warned me it was coming but it's still a sad day when you lose a great friend. Here's a little tribute to good ol' Lady Dog, or Lady Bug as she was sometimes called. After months of convincing my parents that I needed a dog to replace my brother (who went away to college and then on a mission) they finally gave in and I found Lady at the animal shelter in Santa Barbara the summer of 1996. The vet there figured Lady was about a year and a half old. My parents said no big dogs but Lady walked right up to my mom and put her paws on her lap and gave her a big wet kiss right off the bat. It didn't take much convincing after that. I of course made all the usual promises (i.e. "I'll pick up the poop", "I'll walk her all the time") and she was mine. It was the summer just before my junior year of high school so I only got two years to live with Lady, then I was off to college. She has always been 'my dog' but at heart she was my dad's. He was the alfa male and she kowtowed to him. She was his shadow. She still remembered me though, every time I came home to visit. Lady loved walks although she was horrible on a leash. She was completely black when we got her and almost white when she died. We figure she was probably 15 years old. She had a great life and she was always happy. Good bye Lady Dog, you will be missed. Especially by Téa who loved to take you on walks.

Honestly, I know how devastating it is to lose a dog. I love dogs. I am sorry! Maybe you should replace Lady with a dog of your own....hmmmmm.....
Also, I LOVE that picture of you at the beach with Lady! So cool!
I am so sad for you!!! That just breaks my heart!!! I completely understand the suckiness of loosing your friends!!!
I am with Meghan....get a new one.
I'm so sad to lose Lady too. She's going to be very missed.
How sad! I remember when you got her. I was very afraid of big dogs but she was a gentle giant. Are you going to get a dog now that you have a yard?
