So I broke down and said yes to Téa when she asked about having another party. I swore after last years gala that I would do something small and maybe not a party at all. But who can say no? She first wanted to have her party at Kangaroo Zoo but after finding out it would be over $200 to get a special room I said forget it. You're only turning 5! So we both agreed on Chuck E. Cheese. I knew it would be crowded on a Saturday afternoon but I had no idea it would be completely packed! There were at least 9 other parties going on at the same time. We're lucky we got a table to ourselves.
Téa invited 5 kids which turned out to be a good number. The kids had a blast using the tokens to ride on the rides and then Dax (Téa's future husband) found out you can get tickets from the games and all the kids set off to win as many tickets as they could so they could get prizes. I had a blast watching the kids and Téa was pretty good about playing with everyone. I always worry that with a lot of friends around she'll pick one and leave the rest out. But she did great. She had a hard time trying to decide who to play with at first. She had her best friend, Dax there and her favorite cousin, Nicolas and her friend Morgan who she hadn't seen in months. Too many choices for a 5 year old.
Mark was a trooper and came to help. He went around taking pictures of the kids playing so I could sit and eat. And he was good about refilling the kids' cups with tokens when they ran out. Two of my friends stuck around to hang out as well and it was nice to have other adults to talk to. After the hour and a half of being there my ears started ringing with the screams and yells of a hundred kids and by the time I got home I was in need of a nap. The kids had a great time but I think they really enjoyed their quiet time when we got home. So did Mark. All in all it was a great party that Téa still talks about. I think I'm going to let her have parties in the future, but only every other year. I feel so wiped out afterwards! Doesn't help that I'm 7 months pregnant right now, though.

It was definitely a successful party. You have to remember that most the kids there were boys, and that boys don't care as much about getting left out as long as there is a competition to win! It was lots of fun, and I could tell Tea had a blast. Dax had tons of fun and said he wants his there too! We will see, I am not as ambitous as you!
send me your email address so i can invite you to my blog. I thought i already had. i know it starts ciawool but that's all i remember.
