Oh man. I can’t believe Téa turned 9! She is just that much closer to being a decade old. Her birthday was Sunday but had her party on Saturday. She chose a pajama party theme with nail painting and pillowcase decorating as the activities.
We started with decorating pillowcases.
After they finished those they each picked their nail polish colors. It was interesting to see which girls chose multiple colors and which ones thought the idea of more than one color appalling. Oh, the dynamics of girls.
Next it was on to presents and then cupcakes.
Sunday morning (the actual birth day) Téa opened her presents from us and the grandparents. She was super happy with all her gifts.
She received rollerblades from Mark and me. She has been practicing every day since.
Here’s an update on Téa:
She still loves to read. She reads whenever she gets the chance.
I think the thing she loves almost as much as reading is playing the piano. That, and eating Café Rio burritos. She started piano lessons in March. Her teacher told me Téa has natural talent. I should hope so since she has grandmothers on both sides that are excellent pianists.
She started another season of soccer and loves it. She loves that I get to coach her this year as well. Wonder how long that ‘love’ will last.
She has weird sleeping habits. She takes one blanket and wraps herself up like she’s in a cocoon.
She loves to dance to music and sing all the time. She sings in the shower, when doing homework, cleaning her room…you get the picture.
She still loves school and I still never have to ask her to do her homework.
Téa wrote her first talk for Primary all by herself last week. She did an awesome job. She marked her scriptures and everything for it.
She loves her sisters (most of the time) and she does a better job than I can at changing Piper’s cranky moods.
Thank you, Téa for being a great kid.

Happy birthday Tea! I will never forget the first day I met Tea in nursery standing next to Dax in her little China dress. Cannot believe that was 8 years ago!
